What you'll need
  • 2 beef rump steaks
  • Coriander
  • 1 chilli
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • A little salt and pepper
  • ½ small onion
  • Lime juice
Method
Step 1.

Set the steak to one side.

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.

Step 2.

Pour the mixture into a large zip-top bag and add the steak. Make sure the steak is fully covered by the sauce.

Step 3.

Seal the bag and leave in the fridge overnight.

Step 4.

When you’re ready to cook, heat a sauté pan over a medium-high heat.

Step 5.

Remove the steak from the marinade and cook for at least two minutes on both sides (or longer, dependent on how well done you like your steak to be!).

Step 6.

After cooking, let the meat rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Brazilian steak is best served with chips and a lovely bottle of red wine. Or for something a little different, try it sliced in ciabatta with a mixed salad and some chunky salsa for a sandwich with some zing.
