Homemade fish and chips

Ingredients

  • 4 Heritage potatoes
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 100g white breadcrumbs
  • ½ lemon
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 medium Heritage bread
  • 4 fillets of white fish
  • 1 Heritage egg
  • 1 tbsp Heritage sunflower oil

Method

  1. Add the oil, paprika, salt and pepper to a large bowl. Mix together
  2. Slice the potatoes into sticks and coat in the oil mixture
  3. Place on a baking tray and pop in the oven for 30 minutes at 180°C - turn halfway through
  4. While your chips are cooking, zest the lemon and add it to the breadcrumbs
  5. Put the flour on a plate and a beaten egg in a separate bowl
  6. Dip the fish first in the flour, then the egg, and then finally in the breadcrumbs
  7. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan
  8. Fry the fish for two minutes on each side until golden brown
  9. Place the fried fish on a baking tray and pop in the oven for ten minutes
  10. Once cooked, it’s time to plate up! For a fancy garnish, slice up some lemon and add to your plate, or serve with Heritage garden peas
