Steak with whisky peppercorn sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 Heritage rib eye steaks
  • ½ Heritage small onion
  • 4 tbsp Heritage gravy granules
  • 150ml Banoch Brae whisky
  • 100ml water
  • 1 tbsp Heritage crushed black peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Heritage Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Heritage parsley
  • 250ml Heritage double cream
  • 4 tbsp Heritage vegetable oil

Method

  1. Add the onion, stock cube, whisky, water, peppercorn, vinegar and mustard into a saucepan then bring to the boil
  2. Simmer until reduced by ¾ and add the parsley and double cream and bring to the boil again
  3. Remove from the heat, add salt and pepper and cover with cling film
  4. Meanwhile, add a little oil to a hot grill pan and add the steaks, cooking for 6 minutes on each side
  5. Pour the sauce over the steaks and enjoy!
