For our £20 million celebrations, we’re spotlighting 20 stories of extraordinary community action from our Co‑op Wholesale partners.

This story is about a remarkable double act: Mike Sohal and Mr Dhillon.

Through the Warrington Gurdwara, Mike and Mr Dhillon have cooked thousands of meals for people in need — from NHS staff during Covid to the homeless across Warrington. Whenever their community needs them, they step forward.

When Warrington flooded, they didn’t hesitate. They delivered hot food, checked on vulnerable residents, and even took medication to people who were housebound when care teams couldn’t reach them.

They continually go above and beyond, not for recognition, but because it’s who they are — and it’s what community leadership looks like.

Stories like theirs show exactly what sets our Co‑op Wholesale retailers apart: compassion, action, and a deep belief that local people can make a real difference.
