What’s more is they also have access to Co-op’s membership scheme which gives money back on own brand purchases as well as a percentage being donated to local community causes.

In May 2018, the Co-op completed its acquisition of Nisa Retail Limited

The opportunity provides an environment in which independent retailers can flourish.

Primarily it brings enhanced buying capability, allowing Nisa partners to trade their businesses in the way they choose.  As a result of combined buying synergies this acquisition brings the benefit of competitive prices and promotions for Nisa Partners and access to a deeper range and industry leading own brand proposition. 

The Co-op acquisition of Nisa is successfully delivering against our strategy of increasing Co-op’s buying power and achieving wider distribution of Co-op own brand products into more communities.

90% of partners are now taking Co-op own brand products and Co-op own brand products accounts for 90% of all own brand sales through Nisa.

Our Nisa market share also continued to grow a significantly faster rate than the market as consumers are choosing to shop local.
