1 in 20 million- Story 4
On Saturday 25th July, Bobby’s Hurst Green brought the whole community together for a fun day – and what a day it was!
From bouncy castles, glitter face painting and traditional family games like guess the name of the teddy, to local food vendors and support from the emergency services, the green outside the store was full of energy, laughter and neighbours coming together for a good cause. There was even a special guest appearance from Rumi from K‑Pop Demon Hunters, adding a bit of star power to the celebrations.
With a huge raffle, brilliant prizes and support from across Hurst Green, the community showed what can happen when people come together, raising an incredible £1,433 for Jack in the Box pre‑school and Making a Difference Locally.
Bobby has received such positive feedback from the community, with one local resident saying: “It was truly a fantastic day with lots of people saying it’s nice for the community to come together.”
The funds raised will be added to Bobby’s already impressive charity efforts. Since working with Making a Difference Locally, he has donated over £13,000 to the Halesowen community – supporting the local primary and pre‑school, junior sports clubs and children’s play equipment, to name just a few.
Events like this are exactly what our 1 in 20 million campaign is all about: shining a light on outstanding examples of our brilliant independent retailers going above and beyond for their communities, creating moments that bring people together, strengthen the places they live and help communities thrive.
