Making a Difference Locally to launch biggest ever funding giveaway

Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity has launched its biggest ever round of funding giveaway today during the first virtual Nisa Expo, to support a number of small good causes and further cement Nisa partners at the core of their local communities.

The giveaway, named the Nisa Heart of the Community Awards, will encourage Nisa retailers to nominate a local project or cause, such as a community centre, a refurbishment project, a community garden renovation or similar to receive a donation of up to £5,000, and will see a total of £150,000 donated to around 30 good causes nationwide

Nominations will be accepted from Nisa partners via a dedicated website and will remain open until the 20th November.

Kate Carroll, Nisa’s Head of Charity, said: “During the events of the last seven months in particular we’ve seen countless examples of the incredible support provided by Nisa retailers to their local communities, and we wanted to celebrate their ability to understand and respond to local needs with these awards."

“Independent retailers are at the very heart of their communities and so are perfectly placed to identify local projects in need of a little extra support that will in turn benefit these communities and really make a difference for their local area."

“So we’re delighted to launch our biggest ever round of funding which we hope will help some of the smaller local causes and projects that may have been hit hard by the pandemic and otherwise struggled to fundraise this year.”
