Nisa Local Dallam Stores celebrates £50,000 donation milestone through Making a Difference Locally
Nisa Local Dallam Stores in Warrington is celebrating a major milestone, having donated more than £50,000 to local good causes through Co-op Wholesale’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity.
Over the years, the store has supported a wide range of local organisations and initiatives, including Business For Youth, Winnington Park RFC, Weaver Panthers, Matt Roberts’ ‘Born to Run 12 in 12’ fundraising campaign, and the Warrington Flood Appeal. Most recently, the store backed Community House Action Group, a local charity dedicated to supporting families and vulnerable residents across the town.
In recognition of their tireless work, Dallam Stores owner Mike Sohal nominated Community House Action Group for the Stronger Together Award – a national initiative by MADL in partnership with Cadbury – and the group has now been named one of five winners, receiving £1,000 towards a summer day trip.
Sue Emery from Community House Action Team said: “Thank you so much for your contribution to our family day trip to Blackpool. This will help pay for the coach, a snack for the children, soft drinks, and – funds permitting – a packed lunch. We're incredibly grateful to Mike and to everyone who supports Dallam Stores.”
Mike Sohal added: “Reaching the £50,000 milestone through MADL means a huge amount to us. Our customers play a key role – every time they shop, they help support local causes. I’m thrilled Community House Action Group has received the Stronger Together Award – they’re a brilliant example of the heart and soul of our community.”
Kate Carroll, Social Value Lead at Co-op Wholesale, said: “Mike and his team are a shining example of what community retailing is all about. This milestone is a testament to their continued commitment to giving back, and we’re delighted to see another deserving local group benefit from the Stronger Together campaign.”
The Stronger Together campaign, run in partnership with Cadbury, awarded five local groups across the UK £1,000 each to help fund a memorable trip and celebrate the difference they make every day.
