Nisa Local store supports Children with Cancer

The Nisa Local store on Hindmarch Drive in East Boldon has supported Children with Cancer with a donation of £704 this month.

This is the 4th donation made by the store via Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity, which raises funds from the sale of Heritage own label products and branded items featured on the Nisa leaflet. Other good causes to benefit from donations totaling over £2,500 have included British Red Cross, Boldon Community Association FC and Boldon Miners’ Recreation Ground.

Since 1987, Children with Cancer UK has raised over £230 million to support research into the causes and treatment of childhood cancers, and to provide better facilities for caring for children and their families.

From vitally important clinical trials and research to family accommodation, the charity’s small and dedicated team has funded over 200 projects, as well as supporting a Scientific Advisory Panel who provide invaluable scientific and medical advice and input.

Harjinder Rai, owner of the Nisa Local store said: “We wanted to support a cancer charity, with cancer being something that sadly affects so many people and their families. We hope this donation will go some way to help Children with Cancer in the vital services they provide to those who need them.”
