Nisa’s Community Champion retailer donates over £1,500 to MIND
Nisa’s Making A Difference Locally (MADL) charity has named a Nisa retailer Community Champions for February, following the successful fundraising for Time to Talk Day for MIND.
TYS Retail, which owns seven Nisa stores across the UK, successfully raised £727 across the stores which was doubled to £1,554 through the MADL charity fund.
TYS Retail has supported local charities and community groups over the last two years, demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting its local communities.
Leon Swanwick, who works in Nisa Fletton in Peterborough - one of the stores owned by TYS Retail - helped to organise the day’s events in the store, which raised £142 and was doubled to £285.
The store displayed posters and staff spoke with customers to raise awareness and increase the donations received during the day.
When asked what the other stores were doing for Time to Talk Day, Leon said: “Our most successful store on the day was the Nisa Local in Stamford, they raised £257 which was doubled by Nisa. They had quite a few activities, including a raffle for a hamper which helped to drive donations.”
Leon added that mental health awareness is especially important to him and is a cause he believes needs more recognition and support.
“Members of the Nisa team supported us very well; they provided extra collection buckets for each store and a link to all the posters for MIND which were displayed in all of our stores,” Leon added.
Advertorial posters, collection buckets and MADL t-shirts were made available to all participating retailers by Nisa.
Kate Carroll, Head of Charity at Nisa, said: “Our retailers consistently help us to support important causes and charities. Time for Talk Day really showcased how much retailers do to support their local communities. We know that our retailers are important to their communities, and it is wonderful to see that they continue to work closely with MADL to fundraise for crucial causes. The achievements throughout Time for Talk Day really showcases the hard work of our retailers and the important roles they play in their local communities.”
