Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity celebrates UK Charity Week with ‘Give Five £500’ donations
Five worthy causes in the UK have benefited from Nisa’s ‘Give Five £500’ colleague donations as Making a Difference Locally’s (MADL) celebrates UK Charity Week 2023.
UK Charity Week is an annual charity campaign designed to allow the people of the United Kingdom to place awareness and fundraising for charities high on the national agenda, and at a time of the year when people are statistically at their most giving. The week of action started from Monday, 4 December 2023.
The five causes benefitting from MADL funding are Lindsey Lodge Hospice, 4Louis, Bearded Fishermen, LAILA and Batten Disease Family Association (BDFA)
Lindsey Lodge Hospice are a local hospice providing care for people at the end of their life. The hospice will put the funding towards purchasing 750 selection boxes for patients and their families for Christmas.
4Louis supports parents with recent loss of a child - whether this is a miscarriage or still born. They work with various hospitals across the UK to support with funding for bereavement suites.
The Bearded Fishermen provide support for all people to live a better life. Donations are used to run our charity to give support to all those in need, without regard to their background. They strive to create a better mental health support network.
Laila is a 12-year-old imaginative, creative, incredible young girl whose life was put on hold a year ago when, after being missed initially, she was given the devastating diagnosis of osteosarcoma in her knee. Osteosarcoma is an incredibly aggressive cancer of the bone, mainly in children. Donations are to go towards Lailas medical expenses and potential experimental treatments to give Laila a fighting chance.
The Batten Disease Family Association (BDFA) is a national charity which aims to support families, raise awareness and facilitate research into the group of devastating neurodegenerative diseases commonly known as Batten disease.
To further promote UK Charity Week, MADL will be donating warm adult clothing for a local homeless shelter, hosting a bake sale, creating care packs for a local care home and producing hampers for families in the local area.
Nisa colleagues will also be wrapping 100 presents which will be donated to local children through the Kixx Christmas toy drive.

The charities will benefit from a much-needed financial boost to help them continue their essential work in supporting those in need.
