Pricewatch helping to fund royally good celebrations

Pricewatch's Power Service Stations have helped to secure to secure funding for six local celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next month, following nominations for The Bevern Trust, You Raise Me Up, Wayfinder Women, Children with Cancer (Polegate), Bolney Village Society and Hailsham Cricket Club to each receive a charitable donation.

The six donations, totalling £5,750, will be made as part of the Heart of the Community Awards initiative being run by Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity, which will see good causes across the UK supported with £100,000 to help communities celebrate the Jubilee.

125 good causes and community groups, nominated by their local Nisa store, will receive funding of up to £1,000 to help mark the historic occasion with events such as afternoon teas, garden parties and street parties.

One of the winners, Hailsham Cricket Club, received £1,000 for their celebrations due to take place on 2nd June 2022 and will include a national girls’ U15 game followed by a BBQ and celebration club party in the evening.

Rob Wilkinson at Hailsham Cricket Club, said: “This donation will massively help the club to make this event a great success and one to remember for some time to come. We are a massive part of the community with over 300 members and strong links with local businesses. We also hold regular events at the club for the community to be involved and play a part.”

Andre Salvidge, Brand Manager at Pricewatch commented: “We are delighted that six of our nominated causes were chosen as winners following our nominations and we hope the funding will help to make the event one to remember, whilst bringing the local community together to celebrate this historic event.”
