RaceTrack Strathclyde supports local community

• RaceTrack Strathclyde convenience store celebrates re-opening under Co-op Wholesale partnership with community donation 

RaceTrack Strathclyde convenience store has marked its move to Co-op Wholesale by supporting the local community with a £500 donation to Townhead Village Hall through Making a Difference Locally (MADL), the charity of Co-op Wholesale. 

Located at 110 St James Road, Glasgow, the store – which now carries Co-op Wholesale’s Proud To Stock Co-op decal - is committed to supporting local causes and making a positive contribution to the area it serves. As part of its launch celebrations, the store selected Townhead Village Hall, St Mungo Avenue, Glasgow, to receive the donation to support its valuable work in bringing local people together through events, activities and community initiatives. 

Making a Difference Locally raises funds through the sale of Co-op own-brand products in Co-op Wholesale supplied stores, such as RaceTrack, enabling retailers to support charities, community groups and good causes within their local area. 

The donation will help Townhead Village Hall continue to provide an important community space for residents, supporting activities that encourage inclusion, wellbeing and community engagement. 

Isabel Baird, Townhead Village Hall Manager, said: "Townhead Village Hall is committed to being a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone in our community. From our football pitches, community café and volunteer-led garden and orchard, to digital skills classes, family activities and volunteering opportunities, we work hard to ensure that people of all ages and backgrounds can access support, build connections and improve their wellbeing. We are particularly proud of the way our hall brings together people from different cultures and helps individuals gain confidence, learn new skills and become more involved in community life. This donation from Making a Difference Locally will help us continue delivering these opportunities and strengthen our efforts to reach every household in Townhead so that no one misses out on the support, activities and sense of belonging our hall provides.”
