Ramsden International funds new equipment for Rharian Fields ahead of Eating Disorders Awareness Week
Specialist eating disorder service Rharian Fields received a donation of £250 from British grocery exporter Ramsden International recently to help towards purchasing useful equipment for the unit.
The Grimsby-based service, part of NAViGO Health and Social Care, is dedicated to helping those whose lives are debilitated by an eating disorder. The donation will be used to purchase items for the unit that will make an inpatient admission more productive and easier for the client, including art and craft materials, electronic games, equipment for providing complimentary therapies and to facilitate trips out; all of which enhance clients’ recovery. With the service also in the process of moving to larger premises, Rharian Fields also plan to utilise some of the funds to ensure that the new environment is made “as homely and welcoming as possible” for its service users.
The donation was made through Ramsden International supplier Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity, which raises funds from the sale of Heritage own label products and selected branded items.
Ramsden International are passionate about supporting local causes and regularly give back to the community through MADL. Rharian Fields was chosen following a suggestion by Ramsden International employee Lucy Smith, whose close family member was once a patient there; and as a result has seen how their specialist support can change the lives of those affected by an eating disorder.
Carrie Morwood, Clinical Lead at Rharian Fields Specialist Eating Disorder Service, said: “We’d like to thank Ramsden International for thinking of Rharian Fields, we really do appreciate their kindness. We’re moving into new premises later this year, so the donation will help towards the move.
“Also, most staff at Rharian Fields are able to offer complimentary therapies to our service users, so the donation will be put towards buying new items and equipment for the new complimentary therapy room to further enhance the care that we provide for our service users.”
