Tipton retailer supports local Boys’ Brigade group

alt

Staff from a Tipton convenience store are supporting a local youth organisation this month with a donation of £500 to help fund activities for the group. The Nisa Local on Owen Street donated the funds to the 3rd West Bromwich Boys Brigade Company and Girls’ Association through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity to benefit young people in the area.

Phil Watts from the Brigade Company said of the donation: “Your donation will enable us to purchase equipment we might not otherwise be able to purchase, to organise additional activities and to subsidise other activities to enable participation by members who otherwise might not be able to take part, for example our annual activity weekend away.”

Mr Bains, owner of the Nisa Local store, commented: “We as a store are supporting this cause as it has been supporting and engaging the local community since 1979, providing age-specific activities for local children aged from 5 to 18 years.

“Aside from providing fun activities the Brigade helps children to gain new skills and friends, and as the group receives no funding other than member subscriptions and donations we are delighted to be able to hand over this donation, which we hope will be of great benefit to local children.”
