Coventry family-run shop named UK’s Best New Store
A fantastic local store serving Coventry has been awarded the coveted title of Best New Store in the convenience sector industry awards.
The Millennium View Nisa Local in Coventry city centre picked up the accolade at the recent Convenience Awards which celebrates the very best stores across the UK.
Millennium View, which opened in February last year, was purpose built in a modern new development situated conveniently beneath student accommodation and across the road from the bus station.
The independent, family run store has an evolving but already well-refined offer for local shoppers, office workers, local transport drivers and particularly students, with distinct zones for food to go and alcohol, and an innovative array of authentic international snacks and drinks to make overseas students feel at home.
Already achieving strong growth and with more promised, the judges said they felt owner Ricky Dougall and his siblings are “exactly the kind of dynamic young retailers the industry needs to continue to grow and thrive.”
Ricky Dougall, said: “Millennium View was a big investment for us and we wanted to get it just right so that it served our shoppers and offered just what they wanted and needed."
“We are absolutely delighted to have had our hard work recognised in the industry and are really thankful to our customers for continuing to support our business."
“We are very proud to receive the award and now will build on that to make sure we continue to be the best store in the area for our customers.”
