Essex retailer launches new store to celebrate 30 years in the business

An Essex retailer has celebrated 30 years serving the local community with the grand opening of his newly refurbished Nisa Local store.

Bill Dhesi, who runs three Nisa stores, hosted a fun day for the people in his neighbourhood to mark the opening of the Kelvedon Hatch store on Blackmore Road in Brentwood.

An integral part of the local area, the retailer wanted to show his gratitude to customers so invited them to a grand opening party which included a children’s entertainer and face painting, party bags, a raffle, cakes, ice creams and a barbecue.

Bill said it was important to show his customers how important they are to his family business.

He said: “It was a really well attended event and I think well received by our customers. Being here for 30 years means we have lots of regulars and so it was good to have them here to celebrate our milestone with us.”

The store has been given a complete overhaul and now boasts Nisa’s latest Store of the Future Evolution format with a new food to go section incorporated along with a Post Office. The store was expanded and given a new fascia and Bill is now also looking forward to including Co-op own label products in his range.

Bill added: “Over the last 30 years I’ve seen lots of changes in the sector. We have developed our Kelvedon Hatch store to keep up with those changes. Our customers keep coming into our store and shopping with us and our regulars are all really pleased with the new store and are glad of the investment in the area.
