Shoppers returning from foreign holiday destinations are being helped to recreate newly found favourite foods by Nisa’s special Italian dining promotional event.

Launched in stores this week, Nisa is supporting retailers to tap into shoppers’ desire for exotic dishes with the Viva Italia event which comes hot on the heels of July’s Taste of the Orient promotional event.

A selection of competitive deals is being offered on key ingredients for home cooking of Italian dishes as well as Italian wines and beer.

Nisa trading controller Ian Redhead said: “We’re seeing more consumers come back from holidays wanting to recreate dishes they’ve eaten or recreate their favourite restaurant dishes at home.”

Themed POS kits have been made available to retailers to help create in-store theatre and the campaign is also being promoted online on social media channels and the Nisa consumer website.

Deals available include Dolmio pasta sauce jars for £1, Napolina dried pasta and spaghetti for £1, Salca Italia pesto for £2 and a range of Pizza Express boxed pizzas down to half price at £2.50.

Birra Moretti (660ml) is on offer at two bottles for £4 to mix and match with a selection of other world beers including Tiger Asian lager and Staropramen lager from Prague and various wines, including five from the Italia collection, are available at a competitive £5.99 each.

The Viva Italia event runs from Monday 20th August until Sunday 9th September.
