Nisa helps retailers prepare for Chinese New Year
Nisa is supporting its retail partners to inspire customers whilst they are shopping for their evening meal with a World Food category promotion to celebrate Chinese New Year.
With the Year of the Rat beginning its celebrations on 25th January, Nisa will be bringing back the Chinese Meal Solution event to drive footfall in partners’ stores and increase sales.
According to figures from Nielsen panel data, 95 per cent of UK households buy into the World Food category and actively look for items that save time, with rice and cooking sauces proving ever popular among shoppers.
Top brand labels in the category including Uncle Ben’s, Sharwood’s and Blue Dragon will feature in key offers to shoppers at Nisa as the Chinese New Year is used to encourage increased spending on meal solutions.
Nisa retailers will be offering customers a wide range of products at just £1 including Blue Dragon Prawn Crackers, jars of stir fry sauces from Sharwood’s, Uncle Ben’s Express Rice pouches as well as egg noodles and sweet chilli sauce from Blue Dragon.
Co-op British chicken fillets are also available in the promotion at £4.50 per 600g, alongside Kikkomann Soy Sauce 150ml for £1.50, ensuring a complete meal solution is available to shoppers at great value.
Karen Hutchinson, wholesale category controller at Nisa, said: “Chinese New Year provides the perfect opportunity to present a World Food category event, which have proved popular with both our retailers and their shoppers in the past.
“Research shows that 18% of convenience shoppers are on an Evening Meal mission1, so providing shoppers with a more exotic option after weeks of over-indulging on left-over turkey, buffet food and cheese boards will hopefully spark excitement and further drive sales in this category.”
The promotion will be available in stores between 22nd January and 11th February.
