Nisa Retail celebrates 1,000th store opening
Nisa Retail’s 1,000th symbol store has opened its doors to shoppers in the London Borough of Camden.
Nisa hit the milestone figure on Saturday 24th July as key account partner LA Food Group welcomed customers for the first time and became the symbol group’s 1,000th fascia store.
The Hussain family, owners of LA Food Group, have 13 stores already under their belt with the new location in Haverstock marking their 14th venture.
Tabrez Hussain said: “We’re thrilled to be adding a 14th store to our remit and to learn that the store is such a huge landmark for Nisa just adds to the excitement."
“The store opening went very well and the fresh space received a good reaction from shoppers,” he said.
The new 1,800 sq. ft. store employs 12 members of staff and is open from 8:00am - 11:00pm Monday to Saturday and 10:00am - 10:30pm on Sundays.
With a focus on fresh, the store offers a large range of fruit and vegetables alongside other popular fresh lines. And with the location being a busy corner plot with high footfall, the multiple food to go and fresh coffee options are expected to be well received by shoppers.
A pioneer in sustainability within the world of independent retail, the store also features a zero waste section, offering customers nuts, cereal and more.
Store Development Manager at Nisa, Derek Saunders said: “The store has a modern finish with a real future-forward vibe, whilst retaining the unique charm of the building. Multiple tree bark effect pillars and deep Artex canopies, along with brick effect walls, create a welcoming store that offers a shopper experience that is completely different to any other store in the area.”
LA Foods operate multiple Nisa Local stores across London with plans already in motion to launch others before the end of the year.
“We couldn’t be more excited to reach this milestone which is testament to our market-leading proposition and the straightforward process of joining Nisa,” said Darren May, Head of Format and Development at Nisa Retail.
“We are proud to support LA Foods in offering the Haverstock community a new and unique customer experience and look forward to seeing the store’s success in the coming months."
“Hitting the 1,000th symbol store mark really highlights the success of our recent recruitment and the investment we have made into our retail team to support partners, which is helping us achieve continuous growth and support independent retailers to become the best in the market.”
Despite the many issues caused by Covid-19 within the industry, Nisa has remained committed to growth throughout the pandemic, opening 624 stores last year and more ran 300 stores in the first half of 2021, with upwards of 280 more expected to open before the end of the year.
