Ringing in the changes at Charmouth

A successful seaside convenience store is all set to hit the holiday season following the completion of a makeover in time for the stream of summer shoppers.

Charmouth Stores in Dorset has been a Nisa Local for more than 14 years when it was taken on by Phil Tritton and it has undergone several re-fits and development programmes during that time.

The latest investment has seen the store upgrade to Nisa’s latest Evolution format fascia in dark grey and yellow and the installation of an extra 1.25 metres of chillers instore to allow more fresh produce to be included to the already impressive range of groceries.

And an eye-catching new exterior sign has been erected to the side of the store to ensure passing trade don’t miss the shop.

The counter area has received some attention with tobacco relocated into drawers beneath the counter to enable better use of the space behind for displaying products.

And the store has been fitted with new internal cladding and creative signage to help shoppers navigate the store more easily.

Alex Tritton, who runs the store alongside his wife Maria and father Phil, said they are delighted with the work that was completed just ahead of the May half term holidays when the holidaymakers start to arrive into the area.

“It really does look very good. Lots of customers have been in and given really good feedback which is just what we had hoped for,” said Alex.

“It was not a massive piece of work, mostly cosmetic, but it has really tidied the place up and although it was not a major development this time, it has really brought the store to life.

“We’re really pleased to have got the work completed in time for the start of the holiday season. It gets really busy for us from May through to October and so it’s great that all our shoppers will now be coming into the updated store and hopefully will enjoy an even better experience with us,” said Alex.
