Successful North Yorkshire retailers expand to second store

An award winning independent Nisa retailer is growing their business, investing in a second store located a few miles away from their existing successful forecourt.

Convenience veteran Colin Graves has taken on new premises in Grassington, North Yorkshire and alongside manager Stacey Brookes, has ambitious plans to develop the store into a thriving local business on a par with the well-established Dales Market Corner in Pateley Bridge.

Trading as The Dales Market Square, the former Spar/Budgens store in Grassington’s High Street is now trading with an improvement plan underway.

The new store will be operated on a day to day basis by Stacey Brookes, who already manages the daily running of the thriving Pateley Bridge store, serving the local community as well as the thousands of tourists attracted to the area and has benefited from recent store improvement projects as well as the successful launch of Co-op own brand.

Stacey said: “We will be embarking on a development programme over the coming weeks and months and the new store will gradually change to improve the shopping experience as well as provide shoppers with more competitive prices.

“We will be offering our new customers a full range of Co-op own brand products, which have been really well received in our Pateley Bridge store.

“Over the next three months we will be extending the internal sales area of the shop, making it more spacious for shoppers, easier to navigate and a more comfortable space to use in the years ahead.

“Our aim is to make our store the centre of the Grassington community, and to provide local people with a store that makes their shopping experience enjoyable, good value and a pleasure to shop in.”
