Winning with wine at Nisa

Nisa’s independent retailers are raising a glass to the end of summer with the return of the popular wine festival that includes some corking deals to help drive sales and footfall.

The event, which starts in stores today, Wednesday 28th August, and runs for the next three weeks, will see a raft of great offers on a wide selection of wines.

The event will be supported by themed point of sale material for creating theatre in store including gondola ends, hanging signs and shelf talkers and the festival deals will feature on consumer leaflets as well as on Nisa’s social media channels.

With wine shoppers visiting convenience stores 13 times every month and making a wine purchase on average five times out of their visits, the category is a fantastic sales driver for the sector.

Deals available to shoppers include a choice of five popular wines from Co-op’s award-winning Irresistible range all at just £7.50. A large selection of popular brands including I Heart, Hardys Crest, Blossom Hill, Gallo and Straw Hat are also incorporated in the event with a fantastic selection of reds, whites and rose as well as sparkling wines.

Head of marketing at Nisa, Philippe Rondepierre, said: “Our wine festival, like our cider festival, has become a regular event on our promotional calendar.

“Wine shoppers are valuable customers in convenience stores and with just over 40 per cent of them making the decision to buy wine once instore, having inspiring wine collections, with eye-catching displays, is really important to encourage shoppers to make the purchase.

“We are also supporting Nisa partners with food pairings suggestions via our consumer leaflets presenting a great opportunity to retailers to upsell.”
