Homemade skincare recipes for Mum

Make Mum’s day with a DIY spa treatment, featuring a refreshing scrub and a soothing face mask. All you need are six simple ingredients available at your local Nisa store.

Top tip: Be sure to patch test before fully applying these DIY skincare treatments. In the event of a reaction, rinse well and seek medical advice.

Sea salt, lime, and olive oil scrub


Mum will love this salt scrub, designed to exfoliate the skin and give it a rosy post-scrub glow.

Choose a small container, preferably with a lid so you can save some for later, and add 200g coarse sea salt. Add enough olive oil to soak the salt. Stir, then squeeze the juice of half a lime into the mixture. Your scrub is now ready to use!

To apply, gently massage onto clean, dry skin then rinse well with warm water.


Coffee, honey, and yoghurt mask


This soothing face mask is the perfect follow-up skincare treatment for Mum. Coffee is a rich source of antioxidants which help calm the skin to leave Mum looking more radiant than ever.

Mix 4 tbsp yoghurt (we like Greek because its thickness makes it easier to apply) with 2 tsp ground coffee. Once blended, add a dollop of honey and mix well.

It’s time for Mum to kick back and relax - smooth mask all over the face and leave for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
