Chocolate orange brownies
There’s probably only one way to improve on chocolate brownies… and that’s with the injection of a little bit of orange-y magic. Who isn’t a sucker for chocolate orange, anyway?!
- 210g pantry dark chocolate, chopped up
- 200g salted butter, chopped up
- 325g caster sugar
- 100g plain flour
- 90g dark orange chocolate, chopped up
- 50g cocoa powder
- 4 medium eggs
- Zest of 1 large orange
Heat the oven to 180°C. Line a baking tin with baking paper.
Add the butter, dark chocolate and orange zest to a saucepan and stir over a very low heat.
Whisk the caster sugar and eggs together with an electric whisk, until pale. The mixture should increase in size and leave a trail when the whisk is removed.
Add the chocolate mixture from earlier, and sift in the plain flour. Then, add the chopped orange chocolate.
Pour the mixture into the baking tin, and bake for over 35 minutes. Once cooked, place aside to cool - and then chop into squares.
