Chocolate rice krispie cakes

A classic Easter recipe that's a firm favourite with all the family. This no-bake recipe takes less than hour to knock together.

What you'll need
  • 180g rice krispies
  • 200g dark, milk or white chocolate
  • 6 tablespoons of golden syrup
  • 120g unsalted butter
  • 1 bag of mini eggs
  • 24 bun cases
Method

Makes 24 buns

Step 1

Break up the chocolate into small pieces and cut your butter into chunks.

Step 2

Put the butter and chocolate into a bowl and place over a simmering saucepan of water. Stir until both are melted and incorporated.

Step 3

Add the syrup and stir till it's mixed in.

Step 4

Pour your rice krispies into the chocolate mix and gently stir until they're all covered.

Step 5

Spoon the mixture into the baking cases

Step 6

Decoratively place mini eggs onto each cake

Step 7

Place in the fridge to set.

Step 8

Enjoy!

 

Top-tip: Why not get creative with your toppings, try mixing in Smarties if you opt for white chocolate or crushing some Creme Eggs.
