
Custard
Easy homemade vanilla custard, all you need to do is decide what to serve it with!

Makes roughly 500ml of custard
What you'll need
- 500ml cream
- 6 egg yolks
- 100g sugar
- Vanilla pod
Method
Step 1
Whisk eggs and sugar together.Â
Step 2
On the hob, add the cream and vanilla pod seeds and bring it to simmering. Combine with the egg mix.
Step 3
Return to heat and cook, stirring constantly.
Step 4
Take off heat. To check it’s ready, run your finger up the back of a spoon covered in custard. If the custard doesn’t flow back over the line made by your finger, it’s ready.

Strain custard in a sieve to get rid of lumps.
