What you'll need
  • 135g unsalted butter
  • 80g brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 100g rolled oats
  • 100g wholemeal flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • 100g chocolate
Method
Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180C/160 fan/gas mark 4.

Step 2

Beat 125g butter and sugar together until smooth. Add the syrup.

Step 3

Add the oats, flour, soda, baking powder and salt to the mix. Give it a good stir to make sure it’s all mixed together.

Step 4

Take small handfuls of the mixture and roll into balls. Flatten them onto a greased baking tray (or a lined one). They should be around 2 inches wide.

Make sure you leave plenty of room between each on the tray so they don’t meld into each other!

Step 5

Bake for around 10 minutes then take the trays out to cool

Step 6

As your biscuits are cooling, add your butter and chocolate to a heatproof bowl and place over a pan of boiling water to melt. Occasionally stir to incorporate together.

Step 7

When your hobnobs are ready, spread some chocolatey mix on the underside of your bake and leave to set.

Step 8

Make a cup of tea or coffee and DUNK!
