Homemade hobnobs

What you'll need
  • 125g unsalted butter
  • 10g butter
  • 80g brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 100g quick oats
  • 100g wholemeal flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • 100g chocolate
Cooking directions
1.

Beat the butter and sugar together until smooth before adding the syrup

2.

Add the oats, flour, soda, baking powder and salt to the mix

3.

Take small handfuls of the mixture and roll into balls. Flatten them onto a greased baking tray (or a lined one). They should be around 2 inches wide, and make sure you leave plenty of room between each on the tray so they don’t meld into each other!

4.

Bake for around 10 minutes in a preheated oven at 180°C then take the trays out to cool

5.

As your biscuits are cooling, add your butter and chocolate to a heatproof bowl and place over a pan of boiling water

6.

When your biccies are ready, spread some chocolatey mix on the underside of your bake and leave to set

7.

Biscuit heaven in less than half an hour!
