Tipsy laird trifle
Tipsy Laird is a classic boozy Scottish desert. Traditionally eaten on festive occasions, it contains plenty of whisky to wet your whistle. Just be sure to save the good stuff for yourself!
- 6 tbsp whisky (scotch is more authentic!)
- The juice of 1 whole orange
- 5 trifle sponges
- 1 carton or tin of custard
- 450g raspberries
- Squirty cream
- 55g flaked almonds (optional)
Combine the whisky and the juice of your orange in a bowl.
Slice the trifle sponges in half, horizontally. Dunk each piece in the whisky and orange mixture and place them in the bottom of a trifle bowl.
Add your raspberries on top.
Add a layer of custard on top of that.
Top with squirty cream.
Sprinkle your chosen flaked nuts on top. Your trifle is ready!
