
Tipsy laird trifle
Tipsy Laird is a classic boozy Scottish desert. Traditionally eaten on festive occasions, it contains plenty of whisky to wet your whistle. Just be sure to save the good stuff for yourself!

What you'll need
- 6 tbsp whisky (scotch is more authentic!)
- The juice of 1 whole orange
- 5 trifle sponges
- 1 carton or tin of custard
- 450g raspberries
- Squirty cream
- 55g flaked almonds (optional)
Cooking directions
Step 1.
Combine the whisky and the juice of your orange in a bowl.
Step 2.
Slice the trifle sponges in half, horizontally. Dunk each piece in the whisky and orange mixture and place them in the bottom of a trifle bowl.
Step 3.
Add your raspberries on top.
Step 4.
Add a layer of custard on top of that.
Step 5.
Top with squirty cream.
Step 6.
Sprinkle your chosen flaked nuts on top. Your trifle is ready!Â
