Vegetarian bean chilli

This easy, step-by-step recipe will create a flavoursome, belly-warming baked bean chilli that is suitable for vegetarians. Perfect for serving with a jacket potato, fluffy white rice or chips.

What you'll need
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 pepper
  • Tin of chopped tomatoes
  • Tin of baked beans/kidney beans
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder (optional)
  • Sour cream (optional)
Step 1.

Fry your onions and peppers until soft.

Step 2.

Add chopped tomatoes, baked beans, garlic, chilli and cumin powder, and salt.

Step 3.

Cook on a low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 4.

Top with sour cream and serve with your favourite carbohydrate; a jacket potato, rice or chips!
