Anything is EPOS-sible with Nisa

Nisa’s team of EPOS engineers are proving they can work effectively in supporting retailers even when working remotely due to coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

As social distancing continues to be the norm and the desire to enable customers an increasingly contactless experience when shopping, the team has adjusted to ensure they continue to provide a first-class service to Nisa partners, supplying equipment and supporting installation from afar.

The latest install has seen a self check-out till set up in Cornwall at the store of Nisa retailer Gary Batten, with the equipment ordered, delivered and installed seamlessly and with no face-to-face contact.

Nisa’s senior engineer Chris Vose said:

A contactless environment is now perceived as the new normal and our self-service checkouts aid in keeping both staff and customers safe.

Nisa engineers are currently limited where store visits are concerned, and so remote installations are now being undertaken as happened with the latest SCO fitting in Cornwall.

Chris said: “Not having a visual overview and the ability to physically see the kit can be difficult during an install, but challenge accepted!

“This being our first remote install it was not without its difficulties, but I was able to guide Gary through the process remotely and overcame any issues that came up.”

Gary, who owns two stores in the St Austell area of Cornwall, said: “Self-scan is the future, especially with rising staff costs and the younger generation preferring less contact and this is the time to invest in our stores.
“We sold the self-scan as a way to keep our customers safer while shopping and they have actually welcomed this change.

“I knew that a self-checkout was what we needed and it’s good to know that it’s not impossible during these uncertain times.”
