Sugar snowflake pops

10 - 12 minutes
What you'll need
  • 350g of all-purpose flour
  • 230g of unsalted butter
  • 300g of sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1½ tsp of pure vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp of almond extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Icing sugar
  • Green food colouring
  • Red food colouring
  • Silver balls
  • White sprinkles
Cooking directions
1.

Preheat your oven to 180°C/350°F. Prepare baking tray with butter or oil and flour.

In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

Combine with the egg and vanilla and almond extract.

4.

Fold in flour and a pinch of salt, mixing as you go.

Roll out cookie dough flats, and insert sticks (make sure these are heatproof).

6.

Bake for 10 - 12 minutes until the cookies are lightly browned.

7.

Decorate once cooled - with whatever Christmas designs you fancy!

Icing-making method
1.

Mix icing sugar and butter together in a bowl. Stir in a little milk. Be careful not to go overboard - icing only needs very little liquid, as you want it to have a nice, thick consistency.
